Reigning Supercars champion Brodie Kostecki will drive for the iconic Dick Johnson Racing team in the 2025 season.
The announcement Kostecki will leave Erebus Motorsport effectively puts a full stop on months of speculation around his future in the sport amid the well-documented fallout with the team, with which he won last year’s championship.
The 26-year-old will drive one of DJR’s iconic Shell-branded Ford Mustangs alongside Will Davison, replacing the outgoing Anton de Pasquale.

“I am excited to join the Shell V-Power Racing Team, a team with such a rich history of success,” Kostecki said in a DJR statement.
“This partnership represents a new chapter for me, and I look forward to working alongside Will and the entire team.”
Speculation about Kostecki’s future in the sport beyond the end of this season has been rife since his news broke of his falling out with the Erebus team in January.
He competed in a handful of NASCAR events in the USA last season, and that was considered one possibility.

After the legal dust from the split settled, Kostecki returned to the grid for Erebus for the third race meeting of the season in New Zealand, but has more or less battled for results since then.
He’s picked up a lone podium, a third place in Darwin in June.
Eponymous team founder Dick Johnson said Kostecki is one of the “top drivers on the grid”.
“He’s an impressive young man and I’ve certainly got a soft spot for anyone who has as much mechanical sympathy and understanding of the car as he does,” Johnson said.
“With the combination of Will and Brodie, we look forward to chasing wins and returning to the top next season.”
Team principal Ryan Story said the team’s 2025 lineup was “one of the best on the grid” and “a clear statement of intent”.
De Pasquale will join Team 18, replacing Mark Winterbottom, whos departure from the team has been considered a shock.
